I’m referring to the hills around our home in Slinger, Wisconsin. We are located in the southeastern corner of the state that is known as the Kettle Moraine Area for what the last glacier (10,000 years ago) left behind. They are called “kames” . We have a very large “Kame” across the street from our home. A Kame is a huge mountain of debris that the Glacial Ice Sheet left behind as it retracted, carving out lakes and creating potential ski hills for humans 10 to 15 thousand years in the future.
In any case, this morning as my sub-conscious mind was trying to tell me how to place a mini-ad graphic on the home page of my blog at 3:20 am, I found my mini-schnauzer Molly, who had managed to jump up onto the bed, was standing on my chest staring at me as I was probably talking in my sleep about my blog. She looked so curious and I knew she probably wanted to get some fresh air.
So I ambled out of my toasty little cocoon, got dressed, put on the boots and hit the sidewalk with Molly – abruptly realizing that soon I could not feel parts of my face!! We then turned around and headed back to the house immediately checking the outdoor temperature only to discover that it was (a minus) -5° F. with the wind chill!!
I am one who enjoys to walk anywhere from 7 to 10 miles per day outside but not particularly at 3:20 am. I must admit it was invigorating but today I chose to sneak up to my cozy office and work on my blog instead of trekking. I am determined that I will find out how to place a small advertisement in the right hand column by the end of this weekend!
If any of you reading this feel like you would like to share some techy stuff with me…please feel free to leave me a comment as I continue to thaw out!
