What you see here is beyond motivation and beyond determination. I was a professional photographer myself for many years and I think this guy is just plain crazy! What if you dropped your camera? This was not me by the way. It was prepared from a series of images I had received in an E-mail some time ago. I do not have the photographer’s name or I would have given him, as well as the Jumper… proper credit.
Each and every morning…usually without any question or doubt, my first task is my morning trek but today, after 3 or 4 – 15 hour days spent attempting to build and or re-design this web site…I was beat! It was bad enough getting up at 2:27 am today but to even think of going out and doing an intense 3 to 6 mile trek (or canyon jumping) made me wonder if I had all my marbles!
Then I said to myself…”Hey, I have not missed a day since I began this fitness program on January 1, 2010…why break the pattern now?” And I mean every day whether there was a blizzard, rainstorm, sleet, hail or like today…a nice one. I like to do 6 to 10 miles a day.
What I have experienced today is something that most all of us do. That is listening to that little voice say to you…”That’s O.K., you don’t have to do it.” This applies to eating correctly as well as any fitness routine you are involved with as well as most everything else in your life and I will not list all that stuff…you know what I’m talking about.
I call it Self-Determination. You must be responsible for your actions and discipline yourself to do what you have to do to accomplish your goals and objectives. Let’s call this Rule #1 in your Self-Improvement Program…you know, the one that you’re going to start today!
I thought of writing this post as I was walking along my trail this morning and kind of smiled as I thought how great I will feel when it’s done plus… I can then enforce my self-determination by adding yet another day to my last two years and seven months!!
So…enjoy your day and you’ll hear from me again real soon. In fact, why not leave a comment and let me know your means of daily exercise!
